Tell us about your book.
The Marshal’s Promise is my first Love Inspired Historical. If you like Mail-order bride stories you will probably like this one.
Mail-order bride Rebecca Ramsey arrives in the New Mexico territory full of dreams—but they're shattered when she discovers her intended husband has been killed. If it weren't for U.S. marshal Seth Billings's housekeeping job offer, she'd have nowhere to go. Rebecca loves tending to Seth's home, but the strong and silent lawman is harder to figure out. What secret is he hiding?
Caring for Jesse Cole's would-be bride is the least Seth can do. If it weren't for him, the young man would still be alive. Seth had promised to look after Rebecca—and to keep her safe from Jesse's enemies. Now if only he can keep his heart safe, as well….
Are you a panster or do you outline?
I do both. I start out as a pantser and usually write the first three chapters. Then I sit down and work out a synopsis that I can follow. I won’t lie, I chase bunny trails and don’t always stick to the synopsis but I do try… so more pantser but I do both. LOL
Tell us something silly about you.
I love to dance in the rain! Then I like to sit down and watch for the rainbow J Silly but true.
What was the first book you ever wrote?
When I was 12 I fell in love with The Hardy Boys. So I hand wrote a 400 page novel and gave them a new adventure. Good times.
What do you hope readers will take away from this book?
That men and women are not perfect and they hurt each other but that God is the healer of all and forgiveness is the key to healing, in many cases.
What is your favorite season? Autumn. I love the changing of the leaves, the crisp air, pumpkins, and silly scarecrows.
If you could travel back in time when and where would you go? Late 1800’s… Oklahoma. I love that time period and Oklahoma is so beautiful and rich in history.
What project are you currently working on?
I’m working on the third book that I hope LI will buy. I just turned in Eliza’s story and this one is Hannah’s. Both Eliza and Hannah are people from book one, The Marshal’s Promise.
Do you have a favorite recipe? If so would you like to share?
This is a great recipe for writers or anyone who wants dessert fast!
Cake In A Mug
1 cake mix any flavor you like (I go with German Chocolate)
1 Angel Food cake mix
Mix together in a gallon zip lock bag or a large container with a good lid.
To make the cake: In a mug, add 3 T. Cake mix, 2 T. Water and microwave for 1 minute.
I dribble chocolate syrup over mine and it is yummy!!!!
If you like recipes, I have a recipe blog that I and fellow authors post recipes to. Here is the address: http://recipesfromrhondascollection.blogspot.com/
